What a week!  Armour Up began this week with a very exciting event with Challenge Up, and will be ending it with exciting (albeit bittersweet) news.  Will Washington, our executive director, will be graduating from Dallas Theological Seminary this May and will be taking a permanent position with Park Cities Presbyterian Church as a Youth leader for Junior High.

While we are THRILLED for him to begin his new chapter, the Armour UP family will deeply miss hisfaithful leadership and the strong spiritual impact he has made on these boys over the past 3 years.  There are many wonderful things I can say about Will, so it’s hard to limit my words to one paragraph.  But I do want to acknowledge how incredibly devoted Will is to seeking the Lord’s will and to spreading the gospel wherever he goes.  He is such a rare find, and I’m so grateful we have had his positive influence on our children for even just a short time.  I’ve never met anyone quite like Will, and I’m sure you all can say the same.  His passion for Jesus, his giftedness in speaking, his faithfulness to the Lord’s calling, and his overall love for people is like nothing I’ve ever seen.  Armour Up is fortunate that we were able to be under his leadership, and we wish him all of God’s blessings moving forward.  Thank you, Will, for stepping up to lead our children.  You’ve left a permanent imprint on each of their lives, as well as the lives of their parents.  We love you and wish you the best

AU Announcement Letter – Will Washington

And just as peanut butter has jelly, Will has Nathan Harvey.

Will & Nathan have been our dynamic duo during the summer months and are just about the best team I’ve ever seen.  The respect those two have for one another is unparalleled.  Nathan has exciting news of his own and recently became engaged to precious Natalie.  We are so excited for him to begin a new chapter as well!  Nathan is the classic behind the scenes guy, but let me say that he’s the most creative person I know.  His contributions to AU were insanely unique, and he went above and beyond in every single task he was assigned (and even those he wasn’t!).  Nathan has such a gentle, quiet spirit, but has the strength to move mountains.  His love for the Lord and his unselfish dedication to this ministry will never be forgotten.  Nathan will perhaps contribute on a small scale if I beg him over the summer, but will be concentrating mostly on his upcoming wedding July 9th.  We wish you and Natalie a lifetime of happiness.

We are planning to have a going away party for Will & Nathan in the next month or two, so please be on the lookout for more details in the near future.  We’d love for you and your kids to have a chance to say goodbye in person.

As for future AU plans, we are currently praying about our future leadership for the summer of 2017.  This ministry is in God’s hands, and we trust Him wholeheartedly with what’s to come.  We are excited to see where He will lead us next, and appreciate your prayers as well.

Thank you again, Will & Nathan,  for the memories, the leadership, the fun, the discipleship and most of all, the love.  You will be missed beyond words.
