Weekly Recap

We had a 'time of reflection' last night to review some of the important spiritual concepts we've discussed this summer.  I think the kids may have been too literal in their interpretation. You can't make this stuff up.  In reviewing the hundreds of selfies taken at the selfie station last night  in order to kick off this post, I ran across this.  Did anyone catch it?  There, in the background. Will, what are you DOING with that arm?  I totally thought last week's pic was just a fluke.  Remember this? But, alas, it appears as if this is a 'thing'.   ARM UP, Washington. Seriously, last night's Armour Up was a complete blast.  We keep expecting our numbers to drop due to vacations and camps, but the kids just keep coming.  And it's awesome. [...]

I believe the statement immediately preceding this shot was, "Raise your hand if you want to return to Armour Up next week." Even Will Washington, himself, must look forward to returning because THIS. Do I dare zoom in? We had a fantastic Wednesday night at Armour Up kicked off with another rousing game of egg roulette with Will & Zach.  (Which is really just an excuse to put the kids behind glass and sound proof the adult area.  I also can't help but think this is how the animals feel at the zoo.) Will presented a great message about what we might need to give up in order to follow Jesus 100%.  The kids came up with all kinds of things that might be keeping them from having a strong relationship with the Lord (lying, cheating, using bad language, anger, [...]

Shall we say our night was EGGxellent?!  Just ask your sons what they were watching here...I'm pretty sure you can find this activity in Leviticus somewhere. Our combined AU worked out so well, that we will do that again this week (7/30).  Historically, the last 2 weeks in July are the most popular vacation & camp times, so we are always a little low on numbers.  In addition, this is a huge break for our volunteers who are usually working from 5-8:30 every Wednesday night.  In fact, we asked our volunteers to raise their hands if they would like another combined [...]

Well, we saw a lot of this last night... a little of this... And then some of this...  THIS is what got us... What is it about the mustache that makes kids raise the eyebrow? Whatever it is, we LOVED it.  Thanks for participating in MUSTACHE MANIA - fun night for all! Once again, we had a fantastic Wednesday night at Armour Up!  Thank you so much for making this a priority for your kids - we are blown away each week that so many boys are still showing up in the thick of summer!  We appreciate your participation and commitment, and continue to pray that your kids know just HOW MUCH they are loved by God and by us! Wow!  What another fantastic night we had at Armour Up.  Thank you for continuing to bring your boys week after week.  Will Washington hit home the message of the good samaritan by having the kids act out the story.  This, of course, came after the first ever AU Dance Off.  The jury is still out on which was more fun. In other news, we had many superheroes appear.  Props to those who TOTALLY represented. Seriously, we had capes.  And how can you deny success when capes are present?
