We are so excited to announce that Ellen & L.A. Dodgers Pitcher Clayton Kershaw have agreed to partner with Armour Up in our 2nd annual Challenge Up Father/Son event at Scotland Yard. Please mark your calendars for Monday, November 16th from 6-8pm for this special fundraising event for Kershaw’s Challenge. We had an amazing time last November, and raised almost $10,000 for underprivileged children in West Dallas and in Africa. Registration for this event opens October 7th at 10am on our website. (There are a limited amount of tickets for this event.) Each child will have a chance to get a picture with Clayton and we will get to hear from Clayton himself with a possible Q&A if time allows. Your child does NOT have to be a baseball player to participate. We had several spectators last year, which was awesome. (Please note that this event is only open to those registered for Armour Up. Thank you for your cooperation in not bringing younger siblings.)
Don’t worry moms, we haven’t left you out!! You are invited to join us for an Armour Up Mom’s Night Out on September 10th (this Thursday night) from 7-8pm to hear New York Times Best Selling Author and professional blogger Melanie Shankle (aka Big Mama). Click here for tickets to this event ($30/each benefitting the Covenant School of Dallas) and prepare to laugh with your friends at Northwest Bible Church in the Theater Room. For more info contact Casey Schuhmacher at cps5511@yahoo.com.

We had a lot of positive feedback regarding the article Dr. Cristina Sevadjin wrote entitled ‘You Need Me to be Happy‘. We thought we’d leave you with another article she wrote to remind us all what is truly important when it comes to raising kids who love the Lord. This one is called ‘KEEPING IT SIMPLE‘. (For more information about Dr. Sevadjin, click here (cristina bio) for her biography. She is an excellent resource if you are in need of advice regarding children or even family dynamics. You can contact her by clicking here.)
Lastly, if you haven’t seen the movie ‘War Room’, please consider having a family night out and watch this one! (Click here if the video below will not play). This movie may not win any academy awards, but it sure is refreshing to see a film with your children where you don’t have to cringe!! Let’s support those filmmakers producing family friendly movies with a powerful message!!
We pray your new school year has gotten off to a great start. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or information you’d like to share via email at info@armourupdallas.com.
