Wow!  What another fantastic night we had at Armour Up.  Thank you for continuing to bring your boys week after week.  Will Washington hit home the message of the good samaritan by having the kids act out the story.  This, of course, came after the first ever AU Dance Off.  The jury is still out on which was more fun.

In other news, we had many superheroes appear.  Props to those who TOTALLY represented.

Seriously, we had capes.  And how can you deny success when capes are present?

Next week’s theme is Red, White & AU, so start gearing up now!  And yes, that means we WILL have Armour Up next week 7/2.  As a reminder, PLEASE have your children wear their Armour Up ALL IN tshirts if they are not participating in the theme.  It is a safety issue and it really helps us determine which kids are with Armour Up versus which kids are at PCBC for other events.  (Some might argue that all kids begin to look alike when wearing the same shirts, but we firmly disagree).

Now let’s talk memory verses.  Whoever said iTunes gift cards didn’t motivate kids has never seen our kids standing in line to say memory verses.

It’s insane.  Way to go kids! Next week’s verse can be found on our schedule page on our website.

Our weekly newsletter can also be downloaded and printed for your children if they were unable to witness the dance party that was AU yesterday.

Lastly, we appreciate all of your school supply donations for Arise Africa.  We will be delivering those supplies in early August to the children of Lusaka, Zambia.  (Sorry, no capes allowed).   Our next opportunity for service is in the works.  We are talking with the organization, Kershaw’s Challenge, about linking up and having our boys come up with their own challenge to better the lives of those less fortunate.  Stay tuned…

Speaking of Kershaw, congratulations to our very own Clayton Kershaw for pitching his first no hitter last Wednesday.   Clayton is a big supporter of Armour Up and allowed us to interview him about growing up in Highland Park and using his platform as a professional baseball player to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The full sixteen minute interview can be found on our website under the blog archives in March or you can click here to watch.   There is also a quick five minute excerpt below:

Thank you again for participating in our ministry.  Our mission statement says that we exist to bring glory to God by declaring the gospel, developing disciples of Christ, and demonstrating God’s love to others.  This could not be done without your support!

See you next week July 2nd!
